Inspired by discovering surfing later in life, I wanted to capture that exhilarating moment when concentration gives way to delight - arms out, slightly off balance, but riding. The loose, expressive watercolour reflects the energy and freedom of the sea, and the simple pleasure of realising there are still new things to conquer.
