My mission is simple: to shine light through art. To create inspirational, faith-based pieces that reveal, provoke, remind, and inspire.   

 

I pray that my work will inspire in you the courage needed to grow, like plants need light to grow.  That the original paintings will become part of your story, reminding you, day by day, that even the hardest things can become easy with time and light.  That light changes things over time. That truth endures. And that even the hardest seasons can shape us into something stronger.

Each painting I make tells of the meandering course of life, our worth, grit, and the perseverance it takes to keep growing when things get hard.  You’ll find threads of inspiration from the Bible woven through my work, along with a surprising dose of statistics (I’ve always loved how numbers can tell stories too), and off course my fellow artists. I love to work LARGE.

I live in the surfing town of Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa, with my parents and two miniature Schnauzers who think they run the place. I took up surfing in my 40s (never too late!) and tend to my small edible garden when I’m not painting (or crunching numbers). I’m also an actuary - and I love merging that logical world with the creative one through data visualization.
